India Youth for Society Summer Programme for Children and Youth – MAY 2024
India Youth for Society is excited to introduce its inaugural summer programme to foster environmental consciousness among children youth. This 5 day initiative promises an immersive experience delving into various facets of environmental sustainability, from marine conservation to zero-waste practices. Participants will engage in a blend of educational activities, hands-on projects, and insightful discussions, making this programme both enriching and enjoyable.

- Age group of 10-18 years of age
Dates of the Programme:
- 14th May 2024 – 18th May 2024
What to Expect:
Day 1: Marine Conservation Participants will learn about the importance of marine ecosystems, their threats, and practical ways to contribute to marine conservation efforts.
Day 2: Wildlife Conservation This day will focus on understanding the significance of wildlife conservation, threats to biodiversity, and steps individuals can take to protect wildlife habitats.
Day 3: Facility Visit A guided tour of a waste management facility will offer insights into waste management practices.
Day 4: Best Out of Waste Workshop/ Compost Participants will also engage in a creative session to learning about composting to reduce organic waste.
Day 6: Zero Waste/Potluck Participants will explore the concept of zero-waste living and celebrate their journey with a potluck meal, emphasizing sustainability in food consumption.
Programme Fee: There is fee of rupees 1500, ensuring only serious students apply.
Cohort Size: Limited to 10-15 members only to ensure personalized attention and an engaging learning environment.
FAQs:
- How do I apply for the programme?
To apply, please fill out the application form the link provided in this document or from our website www.iyfs.in. The last date for applications is 12th May 2024.
- Is accommodation provided during the programme?
Accommodation is not included in the programme. The residents of Visakhapatnam are encouraged to apply.
- Will meals be provided?
Meals will not be provided during the programme. Participants are advised to bring their lunch and snacks. However, arrangements will be made for the potluck on Day 5.
- How many hours a day do I need to spend in the summer programme?
Our Summer Programme happens only for three to four hours a day.
- Where is the Summer Programme conducted?
The location of the programme differs every day, it is expected by the participant to make necessary arrangements accordingly.
Guidelines:
- Participants are expected to arrive on time for all sessions.
- Respect for fellow participants, instructors, and the environment is mandatory.
- Active participation in all activities is encouraged.
- Any concerns or queries should be addressed to the programme coordinators promptly.
