Appala Reddy Yendreddi
Founder / President

Mr.Reddy is a Social Work graduate. He is an environmental educator and a part of several impacting climate change initiatives. He founded India Youth for Society [IYFS] in 2011 and Visakhapatnam District Cycling Association in 2017. Along with co-partner Jagadish Kumar Mummana, he established Green Initiatives, an e-waste waste management venture in 2017, which is running successfully to date. He was awarded LEAD India Fellowship in 2018, ‘Eco Peace Leadership’ Fellowship, South Korea in 2019 and was recognized by the Andhra Pradesh State Pollution Control Board, for his efforts in plastic pollution control measures. 

Jagadish Kumar Mummana
Vice President
Mr. Jagadish Kumar Mummana is a waste management professional and is currently a resident of Visakhapatnam, India. 
 
He is an environmental enthusiast and a very passionate worker, working for the welfare of the society. He is always inclined to assist people in bringing a positive change in the society with regard to various environment issues. He acquires good communication and leadership skills and works with the younger generation to bring a greater impact on their mindsets for the betterment of the society. He intends on creating awareness and helps everyone to have a sustainable approach. He is currently working as Vice-President for an NGO “India Youth for Society” and actively participates in voluntary activities like conducting campaigns on various waste management issues and Plastic Pollution. Having completed his Bachelors in Computer Science, he wishes to possess a Masters in Social Work and aspires to become an environmentalist. 
 
Professional Experience:
• Represented on behalf of INDIA YOUTH FOR SOCIETY in an International Conference of UNEP – 3rd ADHOC Expert Group Committee meeting on Marine Plastics and Litter held at Bangkok, Thailand in November 2019.
• Attended an International Conference on United Nations - International Nitrogen Management System held at Colombo, Srilanka in October 2019.
• Fellowship at Young Social Entrepreneurs by SIF.
NSS Sarath Chandra
Secretary

Sarath Chandra is a research scholar at the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, working in power quality in distributed microgrids and renewable energy. As a trained academician by profession, he taught MATLAB, Analog Electronics, Renewable Energy, Power System Operation and Control, FACTS, and Basic Electrical Engineering to undergraduate and postgraduate level students at MVGR College of Engineering for over six years.

With a passion for action-driven volunteerism, Sarath coordinated college-level National Service Scheme activities both in the capacity of a student leader and as a faculty. He implemented the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme during his tenure as a faculty. He has been associated with the UNEP-affiliated NGO "India Youth For Society (IYFS) " since 2014, working in solid waste management and plastic recycling.

As Secretary for IYFS, he currently coordinates the planning and implementation of MoU s with Urban local bodies, Corporates, PSU s, and Resident Welfare Associations. He organizes awareness campaigns such as Beach Clean-up drives and Message campaigns for school children.

Bhavana Lakshmi Adapa

Here is what Bhavana says about herself. 

I am Bhavana Lakshmi Adapa, born and brought up in Visakhapatnam - The city of destination. Currently pursuing MBBS in ASRAMS - Eluru. Being a Gen Z, I love trying out all kinds of art forms - like sketching, handcrafts, dance, singing, video editing and so on. I was quite athletic in school and practiced yoga since my childhood. I love riding motor bikes and I feel that long drives are like a therapy from this chaotic life. Gardening was my first step of getting closer to nature and enjoying the aesthetic feel of greens around me. My love towards the nature made me join IYFS. I really enjoy participating in various events hosted by our NGO. My extrovertism always made me popular among groups and this little character of mine grew the bonding between me and my IYFS family. I haven't yet made any impact in the society but am sure I would one day.

Veerababu Sadu

Veera Babu, a 23-year-old passionate young man is trying to bring change around him with his sense of social responsibility. He is helping IYFS through volunteering and also as a prominent person of the 9 member committee of IYFS as treasurer since 2017.

Veera Babu was brought up in Visakhapatnam. He completed his Engineering with Electronics and Communication background. He was a clever and active kid since his childhood. He's definitely not a quiet kid in the classroom. He used to be the first one to participate in extra and co-curricular activities. He believes that participation is more important than winning

With the same enthusiasm and activeness, he comes up with various creative ideas to develop the IYFS organization. He also make sures to implement those ideas in a practical manner. He believes that youth can truly change the face of our society and it's their responsibility.

Harsha Vardhan Guttula
Joint Treasurer

Harsha Vardhan, a 19-year-old change-maker, is passionate about seeing development in society. He has been organizing various social activities since he was 15. Harsha was born and brought up in Visakhapatnam. He met several like-minded friends during his high school times and started serving the communities along with them. Harsha loves music, and he plays piano in his free time. He also makes videos and podcasts on several problems (mostly related to children and youth). In the significance of his name, he is accurate with spreading joy and help. In appreciation of his work, he was awarded the Shri K S Sastry Young Social Worker Memorial Award in 2018. 

Srinivasa Rao Genjivarapu

Background and Work Experience

Srinivas is a social worker and a journalist who writes about environment & all sections of people. For the last 20 years, he has been working on advocacy, welfare activities related  tribal and environmental issues in Eastern ghats of AP. He served in a organizations like Samata, CRY net(Coastal Rural Youth Network), Sarada Trust and Kovel Foundation.   

Currently, Srinivas is the Director for Paila Foundation & Editorial Director for Vivify Media which is based in Visakhapatnam, AP. Alongside his job, he chose to be a part of Chaitanya Youth Development Society, a community-based group, which works for tribals’ welfare & likelihoods of Chintapalli Agency in Visakhapatnam District.

Anil Kumar Pulavarthi is a highly skilled senior software developer with over 6 years of experience in the field. With expertise in a variety of programming languages and technologies, including Angular, JavaScript, and Node.js, he is experienced in developing and implementing complex software solutions that deliver value to businesses and end-users. In addition to his technical skills, he is a social person who enjoys participating in various social events. Madhu Palakonda
Past President 2014-16 

Palakonda Nagabindu Madhava Rao is popularly known as Madhu, a dance instructor in Visakhapatnam city. He hailed from Srikakulam and likes our culture and Indian heritage. He always wanted to be in social work and wanted be a helper. He found India Youth For Society (IYFS) interesting to him and joined in 2013. Later he served the Society as President from 2014-2016. Involving his students, he spreads awareness about the importance of plantation, road safety, electricity conservation and water save. Several of his students are good artists and performs well. 

Anand Kumar Sontyana
Past President 2016-18

Mr. Anand served the Society for  about 3 years as President and started our activities in Hyderabad.  He was the first one who represented the Society for a international meeting. During his term, the team grew with a number of volunteers and he influenced his friends. Basically, he is an experienced logistics specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the chemical & engineering industry. He has an over-all experience of more than 7 years in End to End Procurement (Supply Chain Management).  He is a workaholic and discipline man. He has a great leadership qualities and dynamic in organizing activities.
