A Free Medical Camp Organized at Saripalli Village

India Youth For Society (IYFS), HUT Foundation, and Neolaia Centre for Global Health & Research jointly organized a medical camp today at ZPH School in Saripalli Village, in association with GITAM Institute of Medical Science and Research. NSS volunteers and local village youth actively participated in the event.

IYFS believes that access to medical care is essential for rural populations. Many villagers face issues related to eye health, ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat), and orthopedics. Therefore, organizing such a camp is vital to connect them with qualified doctors for proper awareness, early identification, suggestions, and prevention of serious health issues.

A total of 650 patients from nearby villages—Jangalapalem, Neelakantapuram, Chikkalipeta, Rayavanipalem, Rajyipeta, Gurrampalem, Chintalapalem, and Old Pendurthi—attended the camp.

Dr. Naga Priya, HOD of GITAM Dental College, Prof. Santhosh Kumar, Asst. Prof. Manoprabha (General Medicine), Asst. Prof. Krishna Chaitanya (Orthopedics), and Asst. Prof. Chitra treated the patients and provided free medicines. It was informed that critical cases would be referred to GIMSR for further treatment. The Headmistress of Zilla Parishad High School was also present.

The following departments were involved in patient care:

Ophthalmology (Eye)
ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat)
Dentistry (Dental)
Orthopedics
General Medicine
K. Kondamma, a resident of Saripalli, expressed her happiness, saying, “I’ve been trying to visit a doctor for some time, but I couldn’t manage. Now, the doctor has come to me.”

A. Karthick, a 10-year-old student from ZPHS, received treatment for an eye condition, while K. Laxmi, aged 40, was grateful for getting her ears treated, expressing thanks for the free medical attention.

Local leaders, including G. Ramana (MPTC, Saripalli), G. Ramakrishna (Sarpanch, Saripalli), Bonam Prasad, and others, also participated in the event.

Yours sincerely,
